School
It's been a long time, but as I was listening to the twins have a very intense discussion about school, I thought it was time to update about this new life adventure. All of the children are now in school full-time and mommy has not gone back to teaching yet, so I am all alone. I am lonely and sad during the day and realize how much I truly do enjoy being home with my children and have daily adventures with them. I LOVE to see their adorable faces after school, but boy, are they crabby, which makes it tough on this mommy. I am glad that I am able to get them to sit down and snuggle with me after school, which I can't seem to get enough of. I am looking forward to teaching again on September 8th!
All three of the kiddos seem to enjoy school, but the boys would prefer being home. Darcy on the other hand, LOVES it. Tonight I heard Drew and Darcy discussing school.
Darcy-You better practice reading so you can read at school like me.
Drew- I don't like school and I don't want to read.
Darcy-Well, if you don't read than you can't get smarter.
Drew-I don't care about being smart.
Darcy- Just practice Drew, it takes practice, practice, practice. You just need to read the Bob books(early reading series) first, they are easy to read.
Drew-Bobble books?
Darcy- No Drew, Bob, B-O-B...see, I know how to spell it.
Drew- I don't like bobble.
Darcy- I am so glad that I am a skilled reader and even very skilled at coloring.
Oh my, what a difference we have here!

Is this Water?
Drew and Darcy were taking a bath tonight and as I put clothes away, I was listening to them talk.
Drew-"Is this water, it is really slippery?"
Darcy-"Yes, look, it is water."
Drew-"Wow, it feels soft, we keep squirting all the soft water in the bathtub."
Darcy-"Yes, we are soft."
I walked in to find that they had squirted an entire bottle of baby oil in the bathtub. I'm sure I will slip and fall during my morning shower. ;)

Creative Little Man
This picture captures so much of our little inventive Ashton. He was building with his Legos and loves sitting right on top of the vent to keep warm. While he was building, he dropped a small piece down in the vent(notice it is his hand). He got a flashlight and shined it down, but the air kept blowing up on his face and stinging his eyes. He immediately got up and ran upstairs and down he came with his goggles on... a few seconds later, he was holding the missing piece.

A Stylist?
Today something happened at our house that I prayed never would. Everybody said it was bound to happen with three children, but I just knew that mine knew better. Well, today Drew proved me wrong. It was a snow day today and so there was a lot of crafting going on at the dining room table. I walked away from the table for a moment as I wanted to look at a dog on the ARL website whose story I read about in the paper. Ashton and I were looking at the website on the computer and Drewby walked in and said, "Well, I cut my hair." I was shocked, which made him feel really embarrassed, making me feel bad. Of course, the first thing I did was call Andrew and my mom and then began trying to even it out the best that I could. He was horrified and did not want to go to a true stylist. He just kep saying, "I just want you to hold me." He is the sweetest little guy EVER! He looks silly, but it could have been worse. He cut off a huge chunk of his bangs, pretty much to the scalp. Luckily with his curls, I can blend it a bit. I hope and pray this is the last time this will take place in our house, but I could be surprised again. Ugh. The hair will grow back, but I am still wondering if I will even get the craft glitter off of my dining room table. ;)
