Winning Streak!

Okay, I am on a winning streak these days and think that I may go and purchase my first lottery ticket this weekend. It all started with me visiting blog sites and on a few they were doing some drawings for some "junk" and another for some crafty things, each one that I registered for, I WON! I know for a fact that I was not the only one who registered either, I saw many many names. So, today when we were returning from the gym, I had a message that I won a drawing at the library for four tickets to Arthur Live!!!!!!! I was floored! All of this has happened in the past month and now I am ready to win big!

Two, Eight, Seven, Eight, Two

Darcy is counting and has been for about a month now and this is how it goes...1,2,8,7,8,2. She continues to use these numbers over and over as she points to things and counts.

We also love having Darcy repeat what we say. She can say ANYTHING and tonight was yelling, "Andrew, I'm coming!" She is just too fun to listen to.

Drew is now talking up a storm as well. He can say about any word and has started putting 2-3 words together to make short phrases. His favorite words are usually in a whining voice and demanding something. Wow personalities are sooooooo different.

They are of course the smartest 22 month old babies around!

Singing and Entertainment

Well, to start off, we have another little singing gal in the house these days. I am pretty sure Darcy is going to love to sing just like her Mommy. For the past week, Darcy has been going around the house singing with absolute joy in her heart. She oftern gets pretty loud and tries to hit some high notes...she is working at it and we just can't stop laughing. She is pure happiness when singing a tune. She usually makes up her own songs about her brother, being happy and last night sang about being cold...she was not wearing any clothes when singing after her bath. :) We are happy just sitting and watching her and last night we did a little duet. ;)

Okay, for the boys. Drew is trouble and I have a feeling he always will be. So, last night our little Drew man was chewing on a paper bag and spitting it out. As I started picking up the pieces and telling him that this was not a good choice. Drew laughed at me and our smart little Ashton says, "Mom, just let him be, he is our entertainment." Yes, that he is! Gotta love my little rascal boys.

Hugs from our house to yours!

Homemade Granola!

This is especially for my dear friends who have worked with me in finding a granola that will actually stay together and can be cut into actual bars and not just crumble treats. Here it is...I did not follow the recipe at all and they turned out great, so I am going to give it to you my way, which is much easier than the recipe I used!

2 cups of oatmeal

1/2 cup of sunflower seeds(shelled)

1 cup of sliced almonds

1/2 cup of wheat germ

1/2 cup of honey

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 ounce of butter(what the heck???? I just used a "chunk") :)

2 teaspoons vanilla

"some" raisins, craisins, etc. Use whatever dried fruit you have or that your kiddos like.

*I added organic flax seeds(not milled)this gave a nice "birdseed" like crunch. Yummy!
I also added about a 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips.

I mixed this all together and then pressed it into a greased 9x9 glass baking dish until it was golden brown around the edges. About 25 minutes.

Play around with this and let me know what changes you made. :)

I'm looking forward to making these for picnics at the park this summer!
