Recycle

Last night while Andrew was giving Ashton a bath, Ashton was talking about recycling.

"Daddy, sometimes Mommy just likes to throw things away but I think we could recycle them."

So, from this conversation, I am aware that I am not practicing what I preach. I do give myself a high five for teaching him about recycling and he knows the recycle symbol on products, but Mommy needs to do a better job of following through. Once the new house is finished, I plan on setting up a recycling center. True learning comes from doing!

Ashton is already practicing his recycling. Today he brought in a rechargable battery pack from a remote control car and turned it into an art project by gluing pom-pom balls and other craft supplies to it. He eventually turned it into a boat. I guess there are all sorts of ways to recycle.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!!!!!!!

Make a Wish

I find it absolutely beautiful to watch my children play NICELY together and more than anything love to watch Ashton teach Darcy and Drewby new things. I have been watching over several weeks now Ashton teaching Darcy and Drew about making wishes. Making a wish and throwing money in water is such a neat thing to begin with, but it is even more beautiful that my children have been throwing leaves and flowers into a wheelbarrow full of water in our backyard. I hear over and over again, "Make a wish guys...what did you wish for!?" Ashton usually starts to laugh after the twins make a wish and come running to me to tell me that Drewby wished for a McQueen and Darcy a princess. I don't think they really understand what a wish is, but is there really anything better than the relaxing feeling of tossing things into the water and making a wish? I love the beauty of Spring and the beauty of love that I am so blessed to share with my children as I watch them grown everyday. I can't imagine missing out on their wish making.

May all your wishes come true my beautiful children.

Needed a Hand

It takes a Village, right? While I was struggling to get all three of the kiddos in the van after our park outing this afternoon, I finally got all three safe in the van and was planning on running back over to the picnic area to get our belongings. I got a tap on my shoulder as I was buckling in the last of the three children in and a sweet voice, said, "You looked like you needed a hand." She handed me all of our things and I kindly thanked her over and over again for being so sweet. She said, "Oh my, twins and another one...you are so strong, I struggle with two."

It is so nice when you find other moms who understand the challenge of being a mom and are able to recognize when an extra hand is needed. Thank you to the nice woman who helped me out today...if only everyone could remember to be so kind, the world would be such a beautiful place.

God bless all the mommies who work so hard at their jobs to raise children!
I adore this picture of my children and their friends looking with such wonder as they search for bugs. We are blessed.

Soccer King!

So, although Ashton had decided he was too tired to go to his soccer game on Monday evening, he got tough and went and then SCORED SEVEN GOALS!!! Mommy missed this game as I had some work to do for Kindermusik, but from what I hear, he scored goal after goal and even knocked a kid over to score one of the goals...Ashton was "on fire" says Daddy.

He is now super excited about soccer and loves it! We are so proud of him!

Daddy was a proud coach and Daddy and can't stop showing the video of Ashton on his cell phone that he captured of one of the big goals!
