Seeing Stars

Tonight while we were walking inside, Darcy looked up at the sky and said, "Mommy, what's that?" Then I realized that my baby girl had never seen real stars before, or at least was not old enough to remember when I would point them out to her. We took a few moments and just looked at them quietly and then we talked about how pretty they were. By now I was almost in tears that my sweet little girl, well, is just so sweet. She constantly makes me smile and is hardly ever upset and if she is, it can be fixed by a hug very quickly.
Tonight she discovered another bit of how beautiful nature is and the beautiful gifts that God leaves us in small and big packages. The stars are amazing and without Darcy, I would have not even noticed them tonight, as I was in hustle and bustle mode, but the innocense of childhood and the magic of newness helped me to stop and enjoy the moment with her.
As we headed inside for bed, she looked up at the stars and said, "Goodnight, pretty stars."

To that, goodnight and God bless.

Funny Things Kids Say

Ashton-

While washing his hair and rubbing his scalp, I mentioned how much I love it when I go to the salon and they massage my scalp.

A-"Mom, do they give you a bath too?"

I asked Ashton what he was going to be when he grows up.

A-"A race-car driver and Drew is going to be my little buddy helper."

Drew and Darcy

Both the twins now say(which Ashton often says)

"Mommy, I need you."

I would write more, but kiddos are waking from naps.

Our little Drewby made his first emergency room trip before he made it to TWO! While playing around in Ashton's room, he fell off a stool and got a nasty slice above his lip. Andrew agreed that he needed to go to the ER and have it checked out...we both thought he would need stitches. For Andrew to think that he needed to go, made me even more nervous, he is usually so relaxed. Luckily, the Doctor said it would leave less of a scar if we just let it heal on it's own, so we made it back home at 11:00 PM with a very tired little trouble maker.
While in the ER, Drew jumped from chair-to-chair, jumped up and down on a table and then when we got in the hospital room, he jumped on the bed and played in the curtains. Nothing stops this little man!

Thank goodnes Gma and Gpa met us at the ER to take the other kiddos home to bed. We all woke up VERY tired the next day. The twins even asked to "go to sleep" around noon.

Funny Things.

A few funny things our kiddos have been saying.

Darcy comes to me crying and I ask her what happened.

"Ashton, naughty boy."

When Darcy wants something these days, this is how she asks for it...

"Mommy, I AM a cup." Instead of, I want a cup. Too funny!

Drewby was pointing to the mirror the other day saying, "Ga Ga(Grandma) clean. He must have seen my mom cleaning one day while she was watching them and we had a showing. It's so funny what they remember.

Drew brought me a picture of Grandma Pat and said, "Pa Pat."

We have started talking about what the twins want on their Birthday cakes and Drew says that he wants a "Monster" (a monster truck, which I think big brother told him to say) and Darcy says she wants her cake to be, "Princess with sprinkles, yeah!" They are both ready for some cake, and Mommy is not ready for them to be 2!!!
